Meet the Educational Foundation
The Syracuse City School District Educational Foundation is an
independent fundraising organization charged with providing
Board of Directors supplemental resources for educational programs in our
Syracuse City Schools. Founded during the 2003 school year, the
Officers SCSD Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation
overseen by an active and working Board of Directors. Board
Heidi Hart-Gorman, Chairperson members include representatives of local corporations, school
Syracuse University College of Law district administrators, government officials, parents, and two

On Point for College The Foundation has successfully provided over $875,000 in
education grants for projects that otherwise would not have

SMART Boards, classroom programming aides, books, tutorial

and classroom initiatives.

Bryant & Stratton College The Foundation has actively supported STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) programs, environmental
Directors responsibility (green projects), literacy, and living and learning
through arts education. The success that the SCSD Educational

R. Deborah Davis, SUNY Oswego The SCSD Educational Foundation hosts two fundraising events
Andrew Maxwell, C&S Companies each year. In the spring, the Foundation has its Annual

summer the Foundation also hosts a successful golf tournament

Gary Pickard donations and still enjoy a day of golf and fellowship.
