ALPINE OUT & ABOUT
SHOPPING TRIP CHRISTCHURCH
THE TANNERY ART GALLERY TOUR
The Tannery has a range of exciting and unique
shops and is an amazing Christchurch shopping
destination.
The Tannery Complex's architecture is spectacular
and we enjoyed the ambiance and warmth created
by the internal skylights. Residents did their own
thing, many choosing to shop at one of the special
little boutiques and others enjoying afternoon tea in
one of the many darling little cafes within the
complex itself. A lovely civilized afternoon.
Christchurch Art Gallery, Te Puna o Waiwhetū, is a
catalyst for ambitious creativity in Ōtautahi/
Christchurch, collaborating with artists and
extending the gallery’s influence beyond its walls.
In July, residents were taken on an extensive tour of
the Art Gallery before finishing at the William
Weidman, ‘Being Human’ exhibition. The exhibition
work tracks three decades of relationships between
the enigmatic American artist and his four-legged
muses. At the conclusion of our tour we had
afternoon tea in the wonderful gallery café,
Universo.
