The objective is to redesign a product that could find a better way to be sustainable either by form, function or life cycle of the product.
solution
The Verso brand comes from the word “versatile” to represent a new universal contact lens that fea- tures a semi-transparent grid in the center of the lens. The grid adjusts to a consumer’s prescrip- tion based on a programmed computer system that links up to a computer chip located in the lens. The advantages of Verso lens are the following: the consumer is only using one pair of contact lenses throughout the year, one universal pair of lenses is being produced which reduces costs and material waste in production by not creating mul- tiple lens throughout the year, and the consumer gets their customized prescription within a short amount of time.
