The ‘Shelters for Urban Refugees’ Exhibition is an interdisciplinary
research project supported by South Korea’s Ministry of Education
and the National Research Foundation of Korea. As the ‘fusion of
research in philosophy, architecture, art, culture, and engineering’
for the ‘construction of smart shelter spaces’, this exhibition forms
part of the three years of research work, and will be held jointly by
the Smart Shelter Research Foundation and Polytechnic
Port Dickson. This exhibition took place at JKKN Exhibition Hall in
Seremban. Under the theme ‘Shelters for Urban Refugees’,
this exhibition displayed the work and results of architecture
students from Dongguk University, Korea University,
Hanbat University, Ansan University and Politeknik Port Dickson.
Such work was to focus on the creation of human-centred cities
through shelter design. The purpose of this exhibition is for
architectural students from Korea and Malaysia to share design
Ideas on the topic of ‘Shelters for Urban Refugees’, and to form an
international bond. The definition of ‘smart shelters’ used by this
exhibition includes the use of electronic information technology, but
refers to creative and original shelters for this exhibition. This is ex
plained in further detail in the latter half of this document, under the
section titles ‘Smart Shelters Definitions’ and ‘Data on Smart
Shelters’. This portfolios collected all the works exhibited duriing
the exhibition.
