Llandovery and Llandeilo - about 11 miles apart they
mark the Western boundary of the National Park.
Llandeilo
Llandeilo sits on a hilltop above the River Tywi and is
graced with Georgian and Victorian buildings home to
cafés, galleries, shops and boutique hotels. It is a perfect
base for exploring the West of the Brecon Beacons and
into Carmarthenshire.
Llandovery
Where three rivers meet, Llanymddyfri "church amongst
the waters" welcomes you. Once an important drovers'
crossroads, Llandovery is now a vibrant town of festivals
and events, with its own farmers’ market and lots of local
charm. Nestled between the Brecon Beacons and
Cambrian Mountains, it’s the perfect gateway to
breathtaking walks and cascading waterfalls.
The Heart of Wales train line from Shrewsbury to Swansea
was ranked in the top 10 in Europe by Lonely Planet in
March this year.
