6.3.2 Principles Reviewed and Noted
The following principles have been taken into consideration in drawing up our proposals:
 COPE principles (Community, Opportunity, People, Environment) – as included in PTHB’s Enquiry by Design document
 Centre for Sustainable Healthcare guidelines, emphasising importance of the overlap between well-being and environmental sustainability, connections between health and the environment, and adopting sustainable practices
 Sustainable Development Commission, citing the value of spending time in the natural environment and calling for easy access to it for communities
 The 5 Leader Themes (“Adding value to local identity and cultural resources”, “Facilitating pre-commercial development, business partnerships and short supply chains”, “Exploring new ways of providing non-statutory local services”, “Renewable Energy at Community Level” and “Exploitation of digital technology.”)
 The Sustainable Development Principle as referred to in the Future Generations 2020 Report. (Long-term, prevention, integration, collaboration and involvement.)
