Llanthony Priory

Explore the atmospheric ruins of this early 13th Century Augustinian church in
the picturesque and remote Vale of Ewyas or Llanthony Valley. The surface in the
grounds is grassy and uneven in places, however certain parts can only be reached
by one or two steps. Some of the ruins can be viewed from close to the parking
area. The Priory is in the care of Cadw. There is a hotel in the former Prior's lodgings.
How to get there: Llanthony Priory is 8.7 miles/14km north of Abergavenny on the
B4423 between Llanfihangel Crucorney and Hay-on-Wye, NP7 7NN. The road between
Llanthony and Hay-on-Wye is narrow with limited passing places.

Parking: The car park has a compacted stone-dust surface and can be rough in places.
There are no designated disabled car parking spaces.
Nearest EV Charging: Temple Bar Inn, Ewyas Harold, HR2 0EU.
Facilities: The hotel has a bar on site selling hot and cold drinks and food and there is
a pub approx. ΒΌ mile/400m on the road to Hay. Other shops/cafes or pubs are near
Stanton, in Llanfihangel Crucorney or around Abergavenny. The ruins are open all year
round. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Priory or the hotel.
Toilets: There are basic toilets in the main car park including a disabled access toilet.
