It is an honour and a privilege for me to have been elected President of
Brecon RFC. I came to Brecon in 1978 in the twilight of my rugby career
and played for the firsts, seconds, thirds and veterans.
I joined the committee c.1990 and then became Club Secretary in 2000
for a period of 12 years. Prior to that in 1994 I was team Manager of the
Youth XV for 16 years. I have also continued to deal with the distribution
of international tickets from 2000 to the present time.
At the start of the last few seasons we have taken a deep breath and said
“this year will be a challenge” – and so it goes on this coming season.
The positive side is that we have overcome each previous challenge and
stepped up the divisions to what is now the pinnacle of community rugby
– the Premiership. With the development that the Athletic side has
achieved over recent seasons they have now been accepted into the
