I absolutely recommend the Purser course with The Crew Academy. I've already convinced a friend
to enrol in the Resi course! Whether it's to ultimately help secure a Purser position, in preparation
for taking on a role with more responsibility or administration, or even just to learn and understand
more about the fundamentals about the industry (maritime laws, daily onboard admin operations
etc), I think it's very informative and good knowledge to have.
Lauren, Residential Purser Graduate
I truly enjoy the course and I am very very happy I did it as it was a goal of mine for several years!
I loved the location, the accommodation and the company I found in Tilton House. I enjoy the
balance of work and free time. I found myself very happy with the knowledge I gained and also
gained self-confidence to perform my job and hopefully move to a Purser position soon..
Laurie, Residential Purser Course
Do it, even if you're not necessarily in the position to go for a Purser role or want that role. If you’re a
head of department role or looking to move up, then it gives you a great knowledge and appreciation
of what is involved. But also even if you are in a chief stew or purser role, then you can learn things that
you might not get to have the experience of in your current role, so it broadens your knowledge and
experience. I would also recommend the residential one if you can allocate the time, as I think it made
the experience so much more valuable, being part of the group in person and having them to discuss
things with and make it fun.
Emma, Residential Purser Course
I am very glad that I attended the residential course because having a proper classroom
environment really helped me I think, it was also really beneficial having other students there to
work with and bounce ideas off of. It was also lovely to make new friends. Another thing that I
thought was fantastic was the online platform and just having continued access to it so that we
can always refer back to it in the future if need be.
Hannah, Residential Purser Course
Being at the Tilton house and having all of the girls around to help each other study and bounce
ideas off each other. Being able to have that camaraderie among the group and have Julia in class
to teach us was well worth the trip. I loved being at Tilton house and meeting Charlie, Andrew and
all of the girls. And the dogs!! It was so lovely to be in the fresh country air and be able to stretch our
legs and go for a walk when we needed it.
