What does this mean?
All these new energy systems are new technology,
therefore, require a new skilled workforce to
implement and operate them, which could be you.
It’s estimated for FLOW alone, over 100,000 new
jobs will be created across the UK.
What is it?
Following the recent announcement of Freeport Status
for Neath Port Talbot and Milford Haven, South West
Wales can now compete for global investment and
trade, creating thousands of new jobs
Rail:
Development plans are in place for a metro which will
update the South West Wales rail systems, along with
electrification of the lines this development will
provide long term employment for the consenting and
construction phases right through to future operations
of the upgraded service.
Global Centre of Rail Excellence
(GCRE)
In its final stages of approval, the GCRE is set to
become a global rail test centre which aims to employ
in excess of 4,000 people across many differing skill
disciplines, from Hospitality (there are plans for a hotel
on the site) to skilled trades (electricians, plant and rail
construction) to Research and Development (Scientific
and STEM skills)
Ports / Maritime
With Freeports and FLOW projects, ports and maritime
infrastructure will take place to provide a launchpad
for these projects. The Port improvements will provide
employment opportunities for many years to come.
