a potential conflict of interest as coaches will always
want to select the best team for a particular fixture.
Our argument was that if the regions want to close
the gap between club and regional rugby so
progression is seamless then the standard of rugby
has to be maintained at all costs and the challenge
will be to make sure that the players coming out of
the Academies are ready for the SRC. This is not a
case of “passing the buck” as we will have a role to
play in helping the region to bridge the gap but
what is clear is that everyone has to buy into the
concept and work together for the betterment of
Welsh Rugby as a whole.
Church Bank will look (and for our players, will feel)
quite different for 24/25 with the new 3G pitch
which represents a huge commitment for the
club.As I mentioned earlier, the success of 23/24
came on the back of decisions and hard work over
many years and hopefully the benefits of a better
more consistent pitch will pay off not only in terms of
our first XV but in a better environment for our Junior
Drovers and any other clubs and teams that will be
able to access the pitch as needed. We hope
everyone will enjoy and benefit from the investment.
Finally once again thank you to every one that
sponsors our jerseys, matches, match balls,
programmes and individual teams and players.
Also a further massive thanks to all the supporters,
members and volunteers who turn up week in week
out in support of the Drovers. Your contributions in
their many various ways are vital and why Llandovery
RFC continues to go from strength to strength.

but we will always have great memories...
