When you think of Herefordshire we hope you will picture a land literally of milk and honey, or perhaps more accurately cider and beef. Famously agricultural, this is a county where food provenance is in abundance and the pace of life is sllloooooww. And that’s the point.
Herefordshire produces over half of the UK’s cider and is home to some of the beverage’s giants being the original home of Bulmers (many of the Bulmer family still have alternative businesses here), and Westons. Not to mention the smaller cider producers squeezing from their own orchards to bring you powerful and characterful blends and a whole cider trail to visit and buy from.
Of course the county’s Hereford cattle is similarly world famous, producing steak and beef like no other due to its liking for outdoor rearing. No wonder they want to be out there, the rolling fields and farmland are well nourished by the River Wye and others, that’s why not only our beef but all our food is so good.
