WORLD LEADERS IN TRAINING INTERNATIONAL HEADHUNTING SPECIALIST
As we enter our 9th year of training here at The Crew Academy, we have taken time to reflect on the global trends in the interior service and yachting industries and assess the demands for new types of training. In light of this, we are delighted to announce the development and launch of three new courses over the coming 12 months.
These include a 4-week Wellbeing course for any steward/esses wishing
to focus more on heath and exercise within their personal skills portfolio.
An 8 week Shipyard and Refit Management course has been developed for those looking to take a position within a new build or are working on an upcoming refit, with a focus on operational management of large projects. And finally, a 2-week Bar and Sommelier Specialist course, for those wishing to take their Coffee, Wine, Cocktails, Storage and Virgin Cocktail knowledge further.
These 3 courses have been designed to give our students a more practical and hands on training experience, as well as offering a unique, personal level of support during their time at The Crew Academy, with open access to global leaders in each of their given fields.
Over the years we have prided ourselves on the success of our Alumni, so many of whom who have gone on to hold senior of positions on board and on shore. For us, the proof of this success is that many of our students, from the early day of The Crew Academy; have risen from junior stewardess to senior purser or head of department. Many of them are now managing new build or refit projects, large properties and in some instances, private island management positions.
We are proud of our association with ACrew and our sponsorship of the ACrew Crew Awards for the next two years. We are delighted to be sponsoring and developing the One Voice forum for women in yachting at MYS this coming year. This forum has been specifically developed to drive forward wage parity, job equality and rotational similarity; as well as highlighting the rapidly growing number of women holding senior managerial and directorial positions within yachting and key business owners.
Our On-board Audit and Training team have assess and developed crew from a large range of yachts this year ranging from a 30m, to a number of 120m and Royal yachts, some with over 70+ crew members on board on each. The team have worked with interior and deck teams, to raise standards of service, etiquette and management and leadership at all levels, developing bespoke training to meet specific requirements.
The numbers say it all; our 2018 intake already exceeded over 400 students and by the end of the year we will have welcomed, trained, certified and accredited over 192 pursers, 235 M&L students, 1200 service students and over 900 specialist students since we started the academy.
