professionalism, working tirelessly both on and off the pitch. As Chief
recently said, “this season will be won or lost in our preparation” and if the
1m+ views on their social media videos is anything to go by, we are in for a
cracker!
We will welcome famous faces and illustrious teams with history as deep as
our own to Parc de Pugh over a challenging season that will see us go head
to head with teams that have already enjoyed success at the highest level.
As an avid rugby fan, the prospect of such enthralling rugby being played
in Brecon is truly exciting.
And then we turn to our Athletic Team who, following an invitation from the
WRU, have joined the newly formed Division 6 East Central. Their Head
Coach, Gari Davies, has said that they are aiming for league and cup glory
and their pre season preparations have reflected that endeavour. There is
no doubt that true rugby fans will be riveted to their progress with such
quality rugby on display at Parc de Pugh and beyond!
Finally, I must mention in the Senior section, the Brecon Baa Baas Veterans
Team which is also going from strength to strength, winning tournaments
from Devon to Sicily and keeping the Clubhouse afloat with their inevitable
social events! Their ongoing association with Kyiv Old Boys Rugby Club is
something of which I know we are all incredibly proud, and I sincerely hope
to be able to welcome our Ukrainian rugby brothers and sisters to Parc de
Pugh sooner rather than later.
All in all, I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to help to
pilot the Brecon RFC ship in these uncharted waters, and I look forward to
a season we can all be very proud of both on and off the field.
