The Heart of Wales Line
A 121-mile rural railway that
passes through some of the most
unspoilt countryside in Wales as
it meanders at its own pace
between Shrewsbury and Swansea.
The line traverses through four counties: Shropshire, Powys,
Carmarthenshire and Swansea. Travelling along the line, you cannot
fail to be impressed by its rugged beauty, with tranquil villages and
picturesque Victorian spa towns dotted along one of the most scenic
routes in the United Kingdom. In fact, it was recently featured as one
of the Best 19 Train Trips in the World in 2025 by National Geographic
magazine.
