Heart of Wales Line Trail
The Heart of Wales Line Trail is a fantastic long-distance walking route that
follows the stations along the Heart of Wales Line.
The Trail consists of linked walking sections that connect stations on the line,
allowing walkers to hop on and off the train as they explore different parts of
the route, from the historic railway town of Craven Arms in the north to the
Welsh coastal town of Llanelli in the south.
The Heart of Wales Line Trail also intersects with several well-known walking
routes, such as the Shropshire Way, Offa’s Dyke Path, Beacons Way, and the
Wales Coast Path. Being entirely based around the railway makes it easy to
access shorter walks or day trips via the train service, offering flexibility for all
levels of walkers.
The Friends of the Heart of Wales Trail are currently developing a Passport
Scheme for the trail which will allow people to record their walks at stamping
stations along the trail, and receive a certificate once they have completed
the entire trail.
