Meeting at Symonds Yat Rock car park (by the toilets), we will walk to take in the view from Yat Rock and the meander of the Wye where the river has cut a deep gorge into the Forest of Dean Plateau. Then walk around Huntsham Hill seeing the very different Devonian Quartz Conglomeate & Carboniferous limestone rocks and landslip area.

A brief introduction, before climbing up to get views over the landscape, continuing into Westhide. Following the tow path of the canal, some of which is in water. Stop for lunch before heading into countryside arriving back at the village hall. A display about the HGC Trust will be on show and there will be tea/coffee, cake and biscuits (HGC donations welcome).

A Historic Walk Around Longtown

Walk mostly on roads between the historic villages of Longtown and Clodock, taking in two castles, three wells, four places of worship and seven inns (only 2 now open). Time can be spent in Clodock Church, Clodock Mill and Longtown Castle. With time to enjoy Tea/Coffee and cake afterwards which is included in the price of the walk.
