Nine days – over forty walks and one beautiful county to explore...
The Herefordshire Trail returns to the Walking Festival, covering most of the trail and using public or community transport throughout.
It is certainly a programme with a difference for 2022 to help us celebrate our 20th anniversary. There are lots of ‘good walks’ over beautiful countryside, the twenty-miler ‘challenge’ walks through Herefordshire which were fully booked last year, scenic river and canal walks, the chance to learn about the fallen WW1 soldiers in Eardisland, the suffrage movement in Hereford as well as short historic walks that include delicious tea and cake to finish.
For the first time this year, privately owned Brinsop Court will open exclusively for the festival: a dog walk especially for our four legged friends and a private walk around National Trust Berrington Hall with a tour of the lake with the Countryside Manager.
Storytelling as you walk through old estates, the ancient landscapes explained by a geologist, a cider tribute to the Solstice. With so many walks to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice!
There are plenty of opportunities to explore the social aspect of walking on some of our food and drink walks, visiting some of Herefordshire’s finest country pubs, cafes and restaurants along the way.

Come and walk with us, enjoying the lovely countryside and local produce for which Herefordshire is renowned, in the care and company of friends.
Our sincere thanks to all who lead, back-up and work together voluntarily to make the Herefordshire Walking Festival the success it has achieved in the twenty
years since its inception. Special thanks to Hereford City Council for awarding our Community Grant to help with our 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
