Along the Herefordshire Trail
18,20,21,22,23&24June
This year there is a special opportunity to walk 70 miles of the 154-mile circular Herefordshire Trail.
The recently relaunched Herefordshire Trail starts from the Market House in Ledbury and visits Ross On Wye, Kilpeck, Pontrilas, Peterchurch, Whitney on Wye, Eardisley, Leominster, Bromyard and Bishops Frome.
Walks have been specially planned to use either public or community transport over the 6 days.
Herefordshire Trail Section 1: Ledbury to Much Marcle
Saturday 18th June 2022, 9:30am to 5pm
Distance 11 miles
From Ledbury, head up and over Marcle Ridge with fantastic views before
heading down to Much Marcle.
Herefordshire Trail Section 3: Hoarwithy to Ross on Wye
Monday 20th June 2022, 9:20am to 2pm
Distance 8 miles
Take in three spectacular churches, a Suspension Footbridge crossing the
River Wye and Cider orchards before arriving back into Ross on Wye.
Herefordshire Trail Section 4 & 5: Wormelow to Pontrilas
Tuesday 21st June 2022, 9:00am to 5pm
Distance 13 miles
This walk encompasses some of the most historical areas including:
Wormelow, Garway Hill, Kilpeck, Kentchurch & Pontrilas.
Herefordshire Trail Section 7 & 8: Peterchurch to Eardisley
Wednesday 22nd June 2022, 9:00am to 4:30pm
Distance 16 miles
Follow the Trail up Merbach Hill for beautiful views. Descend to Whitney on Wye, over the historic toll bridge before entering the woods to climb to- wards Brilley and on to Eardisley.
Herefordshire Trail Section 13: Leominster to Edwin Ralph
Thursday 23rd June 2022, 9:30am to 3:30pm
Distance 12 miles
This part of the trail passes Leominster Priory, visits Bache Camp hill fort and
Fencote railway station before returning to Edwyn Ralph.
Herefordshire Trail Section 14: Fromes Hill to Edwin Ralph
Friday 24th June 2022, 9:30am to 3:00pm
Distance 10 miles
This part of the trail follows rural footpaths passing churches, a vineyard, hop fields and orchards, through Bishops Frome and Bromyard before finishing at Edwyn Ralph.
