GUEST Program
GUEST (Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training) is the minimum hospitality and service standards of training required for those working in the interior departments of a Super Yacht.
Mission Statement
GUEST is the internationally acknowledged Accreditation Program designed to cultivate and promote Excellence of Service in Luxury Hospitality Industries. The mission of the GUEST program is to provide assured standards of outstanding quality training in luxury hospitality services worldwide. The accreditation training offered is instrumental in creating confident, highly effective and fully engaged professionals, resulting in increased job satisfaction for individuals and the reduction in costs and risks to the employers, who then benefit from a higher return of investment in their staff.
What is GUEST?
Interior yacht crew play a vital and fundamental role as the front line to owners and guests. They ensure that the expected high end service and hospitality needs are met and enjoyed on board. Deck and Engineering Crew benefit from a clearly defined route to training and certification and historically, there has had been no such structure or formal training for Interior Crew. In addition, the training that did exist varied widely in both scope and objectives. The PYA, the professional body for yacht crew, had consulted with the yachting industry to establish a clear career path for Interior Crew, creating an industry standard of Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training, GUEST, which now unify these different approaches.
The PYA GUEST program is designed to inspire and support current and future Stewards and Stewardesses working in the interior department of the luxury Super Yacht sector. GUEST is a learning platform to further your career and fill the gaps in skill sets from Chief, Senior and Junior levels.
Working together with the top trainers and mentors who are on hand to deliver training and support to current Heads of the Interior Departments, giving you the confidence and management skills to lead your team and produce the excellence expected from the yachting community who rely on YOU as the frontline to the luxury super yacht sector.
GUEST approved trainers all have extensive yachting and high end hospitality backgrounds and fully understand the pressures of working in a multifaceted environment and the quantity and quality of the skills required to perform your role on-board.
The GUEST program is designed by professionals in the yachting community and interior departments, to be progressively shaped and moulded by trends and owners’ expectations, through feedback and consultation, so that YOU can become the best interior department the yachting sector has ever had.
GUEST is endorsed by the PYA, MYBA, ISS and SYBASS.
