Tribute

We closed the sun filled event with a poignant tribute to Captain
Dean Sprouting, our great friend and colleague, who tragically
died whilst serving in Iraq at the beginning of 2018, by
presenting the inaugural Captain Dean Sprouting Award – ‘The
Entertainer’. This award will continue throughout the years and
is awarded to the Staff and Personnel Support member within
51 Brigade whose actions have entertained the troops by being
mischievous, humorous or plain old entertaining, in tribute to
some of the traits that Dean held. It was a hugely proud moment
when Mrs Linda Sprouting awarded the presentation to Sergeant
Kirsty Hudson of 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland. She
won the award by posting the Officer Commanding Headquarter
Company as absent without leave and also by not knowing who
her Regimental Administrative Officer was, despite talking to
him almost every day for three weeks on arrival at the regiment.
She thought he was the Detachment Commander – ouch.
