1. General Features of Fiber Laser Cutting Machine
Fiber Technology
Fiber lasers use special fiber optics as the active medium with thicknesses of only a few µm
producing high performance at optimal beam quality. The mirrors of the resonator are used as
Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs). Those define the wavelength of a fiber laser being 1080 µm.
Emitted light from focused high-power laser diodes creates the pump power which is coupled
into the resonator by pump couplers and results in the active fiber excitation.
The optically and electronically modular designed pumping units are easy to maintain.
Opposite to common concepts the "all-in-glass" technology reduces the risk of contamination
of the optics and thus a reduction of the beam quality.
