We are a team of professionals that exemplify the UF Office of Research mission to achieve the
distinction of national research excellence on a department level. We are dedicated to
providing effective support services to the faculty, fellows, and residents. We offer complete
life cycle support services for basic, applied, quantitative, and qualitative research involving
human subjects. We are committed to cultivating trust with UF research participants by
providing a supportive and safe environment for successful recruitment and voluntary
enrollment.

Provides centralized support for the Department of Anesthesiology faculty, fellows, and
residents from study concept through publication. Promotes compliance with institutional,
state, and federal research requirements for the conduct of clinical research in the department.
Plans and monitors collaborative research efforts across disciplines in projects and work
performance surrounding activities of clinical research conducted within the department. Over
18 years supporting research in the department of anesthesiology at UF. Special interest in
critical care medicine, with 23 years surgical and trauma ICU nursing experience.
Amy Gunnett, RN, CRCC, Certified Lead Research Coordinator III/Lead Research Nurse, Quality
Assurance Officer, and the Registry Manager for the North American Malignant Hyperthermia
Registry (NAMHR) of MHAUS, agunnett@anest.ufl.edu, 273-8911
Responsible for training research staff, periodical reviews of all procedures and policies
to insure compliance with research and nursing standards and practices, protocol development
regulatory management for investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored protocols,
development and implementation of standard operating procedures, direct patient care in
clinical trials, and collaboration with the research staff to provide the best service for the
department’s research faculty. Over 18 years of prior experience in research mostly focusing on
Adult and Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology industry sponsored trials. When not
working, she is very active with her two young boys. Outside interests involve movies,
scrapbooking, crafts, and reading.

Responsible for protocol development and regulatory management for investigator-
