The People Can Live There
In 1970, His Majesty expressed his wish to visit the
people at a district in Pathalung Province, where the
communist terrorists infiltrated and operated in the
most ferocious manner in the far south. With so
much concern about the safety of HM the King, the
Ministry of Interior had recommended to HM the
King to wait until the situation is better. The answer
given to the Ministry was that “the people have been
in the risk of their safety several folds more than the
risk we face because they have to live there. If they
can live there, why we would become so coward
even to make a visit to see how bad or good
condition they are in?
