One of the most noticeable changes is the extremely sizable recession all business economies underwent. Millions of enterprises faced the now magnified risk of failure and even worse, the risk of poverty for some. Unprecedented starvation, unemployment, homelessness were threats posed for small and new business owners. For example, farmers, who already had a low revenue, faced depleted incomes, due to the placement of new trade restrictions at the time. They faced malnutrition, a lack of safety, as well as the lack of labour protection.
