These alterations led to a number of jobs being terminated, such as the redundancy of waiters being rendered jobless for a long period. Unemployment rose to catastrophic levels. The recovery, however, only started 1.5 years later after the decline of the pandemic. The dearth of jobs and opportunities meant that the employees had to put in excessive work to retain their positions and secure their jobs.
