Meet the Team
Manisha KC
My name is Manisha KC and I am a Registered
Nurse currently working in Lansdowne Gardens. I
was born and raised in Nepal. I have two younger
brothers and my parents who all live in Nepal. I
moved to Australia in 2008 to expand my
horizons and to further my studies. I enrolled and
successfully managed to complete various
training courses, but I always felt there was
something missing. The opportunity presented
itself when one of my cousins who is a Registered
Nurse herself encouraged me to become a Nurse.
After a little much needed push from family, I
joined the Bachelor of Nursing in 2012.
I joined Lansdowne Gardens in 2014 which was
my first nursing experience. I had never seen
myself as a Nurse prior to joining Lansdowne
Gardens because of the self-doubt I had about
myself. Lack of confidence was the main catalyst
for my initial hesitance on taking nursing as my
professional career. However, I couldn’t have
been more wrong about myself. After a few
weeks at Lansdowne, I could see my confidence
building and the initial agitation had disappeared.

Brain Teaser
Being a nurse and fulfilling the responsibilities that
came with the role made me value myself. I was the
happiest I had been in a long time because of an
absolute joy this profession brought to my life. This is
solely due to the immense love, support and respect I
receive from the residents, management and my
colleagues. I was determined to work hard and provide
the best care I could to the lovely residents. They say
hard work always pays off and mine was recognised
when I was awarded with the Limelight Award 2021
for my performance. I could not be prouder of myself.
Working at Lansdowne Gardens is the best decision I
have ever made in my life. The love I receive from the
residents, residents’ families and my fellow staff is
truly unmeasurable. I have learned so much about
Australian history from working here as well. When
not working, I like to spend my time knitting and with
my pet rabbit. Photography is something that has
always fascinated me, and I have started taking
photography classes. Lansdowne Gardens is my
second home; a home away from home. I am thankful
for all the joy and happiness Lansdowne Gardens
brings to my life and I am forever indebted for the
respect and confidence I have achieved and for my
development into the strong and determined person
that I have become today.
