 MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER
On behalf of the Province of New Brunswick, I wish Albert County and its citizens a very happy 175th Anniversary this year.
It is a wonderful opportunity to commemorate and celebrate the proud heritage of Albert County, a region with a wide array of cultural and heritage elements which exemplify the resilience of New Brunswickers since time immemorial. The incredible tales and stories of the families, merchants, ship builders, community groups, historic figures and people of the tides have contributed to the heritage of Albert County.
The “Albert County 175” booklet will serve as a lasting account of some of the many important contributions of the individuals, the communities, businesses and organizations which have shaped Albert County. I applaud the Albert County Museum and RB Bennett Centre for taking leadership to organize this important commemoration.
All the best,
Hon. Blaine M. Higgs
Premier of New Brunswick
MESSAGE FROM MP
As the Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, I am pleased to write in celebration of Albert County’s 175th anniversary. Albert County has much to be proud of over its long history.
At its core, this county has an incredible community spirit that warmly welcomes visitors from around the world. While this year’s celebration is different than we originally expected due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has not impacted the pride in Albert County of its lengthy and impressive history.
I am thankful for the many volunteer hours put into organizing this year’s events and adapting to unpredictable circumstances. A special thank you to each of you reading this for doing your part to spread pride in Albert County.
Sincerely,
Hon. Rob Moore
Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal
MESSAGE FROM MP
I am pleased to bring you all best wishes from the Government of Canada as you mark Albert County's 175th anniversary.
Home for centuries to first the Mi'kmaq and then the English, French and Germans, Albert County and its "people of the tides" have left a proud cultural legacy still with us today.
Since a young Queen Victoria signed the Royal Proclamation creating the county in 1845, Albert County's history has only grown richer, as generations built lives out of the bounty of the county -- farming, logging, shipbuilding, mining, and fishing.
I commend the organizers of Albert County 175 for celebrating and sharing that history with new generations, and I am proud the Government of Canada has supported your efforts.
Sincerely,
Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor
Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe

MESSAGE FROM MLA
2020 has been a year that has provided the world with more than its fair share of challenges. As Albert County celebrates its 175th anniversary we can reflect on several points in history where we have faced challenges and the indelible spirits of the people from this great community don’t just survive, they thrive!
Regardless of where you find yourself in Albert County, there will always be scenery that takes your breath away, people that are warm and welcoming, and a chance to learn about a place that formed the foundation of our country.
This, more than any other time is a great opportunity to come and experience the “pride in place” you will feel when you make Albert County your destination this year. See you soon!
Hon. Mike Holland

Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Development
MESSAGE FROM MLA
Congratulations to Albert County on their 175 Anniversary.
Albert County is one of the beautiful regions of New Brunswick and reflects what is the best in our province: quality of life, strong community spirit, and a great environment.
Albert County has also a rich history in forestry, fishing, shipbuilding, mining, tourism and many other areas. So many people have lived, worked and contributed to this region over the years, including Molly Kool, the first female sea captain or ship master from Alma, and R.B. Bennett from Hopewell, the 11th Prime Minister of Canada.
I have enjoyed Albert County all my
life. I have fond memories of
Hillsborough Mastodon,
camping in Fundy National Park,
New Brunswick Museum
biking to Waterside Beach from Riverview, exploring the Hopewell Rocks, and hiking the various trials all over the county. These were great experiences I shared with my children, and I look forward to many more.
Happy 175 Anniversary to all Albert County residents.
Hon. Bruce Fitch
MLA for Riverview
Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture.
