KLEMHEIST KN01'
his is a variation on the Prusik knot. The second rope used must be at least half the
T diameter of the main rope. This knot is used when downward/ diagonal strain will be
used - for example, placing a foot into a loop to begin climbing.
NOTE
Check and test the knot
for security before using
it to take any strain.
Remember, too, that the
knot will be less secure
in wet or icy conditions.
Make a bight in a sling and
I lay it behind the main rope.
Wrap the bight around the
2 main rope in an upwards
direction (as though it were
'climbing up' the rope).
Continue to wrap the sling
3 upwards, along the main
rope, making sure that both legs
of the sling stay flat and parallel.
