In the House - In a Heartbeat (from '28 DAYS LATER')
by John Murphy
Key Dmin Tempo 76 BPM
E A D G B E
This is the last and by far the longest loop at 16 bars and takes timing and a lot of patience (a metronome
will help you to keep time on this). But builds into a huge sounding piece of music from two simple
harmonics, just like the original If you have reverb on your setup, i suggest plenty of it for this one!
In this version i've left that recognisable hook until last for added effect. Because the loop is so long there's
plenty of space to experiment and add your own ideas.
So we'll start with the harmonics, this part isn't tabbed out for the full 16 bars as it's only two notes. The
tab below is 2 bars so record this 8 times for your 16 bar loop.
guitar one
RECO 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
To make it easier than following 16 full bars of tab for the bassline and guitar two - guitar two is in red
running alonside the bassline.
Play the following: part one - play bassline + end one (bars 1 to 8)
part two - play bassline + end two (bars 9 to 16)
Now do the same for guitar two. The strumming pattern is exactly the same as the bassline so use it as
a guide:
now we'll add the percussion. The tab below is 4 bars long so play this 4 times for your 16 bar loop.
