More than 365 days
it has been more than 365 days of preparations, of stealing hours to
sleep, of feeling that days should be longer, of making small steps,
of thinking than sooner or later it would be the day, of looking up,
of being sure that it can be done, of overcoming obstacles, of going
beyond the limits, of finding support, of working to encourage the
commitment, of generating excitement, of persuading others, of
convincing ourselves.
It has been more than 12 months of meetings, journeys, going and
coming backs, talks, training, expectations, hopes and frustration,
of wanting and cannot, of stealing minutes to partners and families,
of desperation, of raising our spirits and moving on, of breaking our
backs.
It has been more than 52 weeks of conviction, fight, planification,
exhaustion, tiredness, rapport, dissemination, of long and hard
waiting, of aligning agendas and breaks, of organizing everything till
the last tiny detail, of watching what has been done and copying
just the best, of wanting to give up and finding a replacement.
It has been 5 days of competition, effort, sacrifice, of wasting
energy, of coordination, of setting up shifts, of greasing the team,
of motivation, of lending a hand, of being in the right place in the
precise moment, of trusting, of helping and being helped, of getting
angry for the delays, of making and distributing the meal bags, of
driving vans, of delivering numbers, acreditations and medals, of
collaborating in the race, of coming to the aid of athlete, of hoping
that everything works, of wishing it is over, of trembling from
emotion with the small success and the big victories, of feeling
proud of what has been achived.
It has been 1 World Multi Sport Championship and it has been here,
in Pontevedra.
