Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea has a population of over eight million people, with
more than 800 different language groups from over 1,000 tribes.
A country of immense cultural and biological diversity, it’s known for its
beaches and coral reefs, active volcanoes, dense rainforest and hiking
routes.
Port Moresby is the Capital of Papua New Guinea and is located on
the Gulf of Papua. It has a population of close to a million people and is
growing. Places of interest to visit are the National Museum and
Art Gallery. Nearby is the Parliament House with its entrance dominated
with colourful mosaic featuring national motifs.
Other places of interest are the Nature Park in the city, and
Port Moresby Adventure Park where various species of plants and
animals are kept which is a 20 minutes drive out of the city.
Weather
Papua New Guinea weather conditions mainly consist of two seasons
throughout the year. The wet season starts from October and continues
until the end of March. The wet weather temperatures range between
23°C (73°F) and 32 °C (90°F). It is very warm in Port Moresby, so you
may want to bring some light cotton attire.
