The JERRYs—The People Who Make it Possible

By Marcella Kanfer Rolnick, Vice Chair

Innovation, collaboration and learning have been
part of the GOJO story since our founding in 1946. My
great aunt Goldie and great uncle Jerry (aka
“Grandpa Jerry”) set out to solve an important
human problem and find a safer way to clean
hands. Their determination and ingenuity changed
the way people clean their hands, and today those
attributes can be seen in everything we do.

Each year, we celebrate our successes by honoring
our past, celebrating the present, and looking to the

Goldie and Jerry Lippman, of much more than business. It was about the people
                blessed memory. Circa 1939
who made the business go, and it still is.

Grandpa Jerry was, first and foremost, a man dedicated to the notion that when you
provide opportunity to people, great things can and will happen. He believed that the
success of the Enterprise was due to the employees, and that those employees should
be recognized for their contributions and accomplishments.

The JERRYs are also an opportunity for us to continue to expand our knowledge by
learning about our business and the unique role each and every one of us plays in our
success. We learn about new programs, new innovations, new ideas and new ways of
working – all of which are helping to shape the culture and future of GOJO. And, as
               Jerry would always say,
               “Everything I know, I
               learned from someone
               else.” The JERRYs are a
               wonderful moment in the
               year to carry on this
               commitment to lifelong
               learning.
