Responsible staff: Patti Lewis, Transportation Coordinator Responsible office: Facilities Management Department
College Transportation:
Arrangements for rental of ALL College vehicles, as well as buses chartered from outside firms, must be made through the Facilities Management Department, located in the Chase Service Center. The college owns a hybrid car (5 passengers), mini-vans (7 passenger), vans (12 passengers) and buses (15 passengers) that are available to rent.
Contact Information:
Chase Service Center 924 College Avenue Transportation Office Phone: (630) 752-511
Vehicle Reservations:
Vehicle Reservations are made via online 25Live program which can be located in the portal-employee- help and resources-transportation request. The student in charge of transportation for any event should contact your faculty/staff advisor to make these reservations. If there are any questions regarding vehicle reservations, please call the Transportation Office, ext. 5114. Although, reservations will not be taken over the phone, the transportation coordinator can help with the process.
Driver’s Responsibilities:
The Transportation Office does not provide drivers for college vehicles, the organization must provide a driver, (who has had a driver’s license for 3 years or more in the US) and obtain a permit through the Transportation Office. Information to obtain a permit is below. The driver will be responsible for picking up the keys and mileage form at the Transportation Office before 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Keys for weekend reservations must be picked up by 4:00 PM on Friday. However, the vehicle itself is not to leave the lot until the actual reservation time. In addition to filling out the mileage form, the driver must return the vehicle at the reserved time and report any motor failures, damage or accidents that occurred while using it.
Student Driver Permits:
Student drivers must complete an application (and be approved) before operating any college vehicle. This process must be completed prior to the need for a vehicle. The Transportation Office will need to obtain a copy of the applicant’s driver’s license to check their MVR (Motor Vehicle Record). This process can take a number of days, so please plan accordingly.
Anyone needing to drive a 12 or 15 passenger vehicle will need to take a behind-the-wheel driving test. These road tests are only offered at specific times, so please allow at least one week prior to your reservation to complete this process.
