Academic and Institutional Technology:
The Department of Academic and Institutional Technology serves the Wheaton College community by providing technology-based solutions to student needs. The services listed below are of particular interest to student groups, and you can find more information at www.wheaton.edu/ait.
Thundercloud Training:
All students have access to lynda.com which has over 3,500 video tutorial courses from industry experts on interpersonal, creative, professional, and technical skills. Students sign in using their College email address and network password. Go to www.wheaton.edu/thundercloud-training for more information or help gaining access.
Schoology:
Student groups can request a schoology group for the purposes of content distribution and communication. Contact ait.service.desk@wheaton.edu to request a group.
Google Accounts:
All students have access to a Google Account with the email address firstname.lastname@my.wheaton.edu. This account gives access to Google Apps, tools for communication, file storage, and collaboration. Available apps include:
• Gmail
• Google+
• Hangouts
• Calendar
• Drive
• Google Docs, Sheets, Forms and Slides
Equipment Checkout:
Wheaton College students may check out equipment for school-sanctioned clubs or activities, class projects, and homework assignments. Equipment reservations should be submitted at least one business day before pickup, and the equipment is located at the AIT
Service Desk in Blanchard 171. Pickup hours are between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. To reserve equipment, students should fill out this form. Equipment can be checked out for up to 4 days, and may be extended upon request for an additional 3 days if no one else has reserved it. This form can also be found on the AIT Website. Available equipment includes:
• Mac and PC laptops
• Projectors
• Digital audio recorders
• Camcorders
