16 THE SIGNS OF THE END
The message w as dear, and Israel was at the heart of it all.
As long as the West supported Israel, particularly its occupation
of the "West Bank," there was going to be trouble, the Moslem
terrorists indicated. What the Arab/M oslem states had not been
able to accomplish on the battlefield, they were now accomplish
ing through these crafty efforts. The U.S. and the U.N. began to
apply heavy pressure on Israel to negotiate with the Arabs/
Palestinians/Moslems, even if it meant dismantling the hard-won
security of the territorial buffer zones of the "West Bank" and the
Golan Heights.
So Israel now finds itself entering into the uncharted waters
of a vaguely defined peace plan, in the heart of the hostile
Moslem-dominated empire which stretches out on all sides of
Israel.
Movement Toward Conditions Prior to
Ezekiel 38 and 39 — Superficial Peace
One does not normally hear an Israeli Army officer; who
represents the public relations arm of the military, speaking
about Bible prophecy. Yet here w as our speaker, in his Army
uniform, not only opening the Koran to see the kind of instruc
tions it gives to its followers, but also the Bible, to consider its
end-time prophecies about Israel.
Those of you have read our book, COMING: THE END,
RUSSIA AND ISRAEL IN PROPHECY (sequel to THE COMING
RUSSIAN INVASION OF ISRAEL), ate familiar with the view
that the next fulfillment of prophecy after the Rapture of the
Church on the way to the Tribulation is the invasion of Israel by
Russia, Eastern Europe, Persia, Ethiopia and Libya. This is the
Gog and Magog war described by Ezekiel in the 38th and 39th
chapters.
We are used to hearing this interpretation discussed in
evangelical church pulpits and seminaries, but not among
military strategists. Our Israeli soldier spokesman did just that.
He stated in no uncertain terms that he believed the new peace
agreement was actually setting the stage for the w ar described in
Ezekiel 38 and 39, which begins, "In that day when my people of
