Matt Hagler
VP, Preserve Resort and Clubs
Matt Hagler began his career in the Luxury Hotel sector and participated in the development of the Ritz Carlton Brand—as
the General Manager of Laguna Niguel and Marina del Rey. In 1995, he migrated to overseeing large-scale resort development and operations with The Ginn Company. As Executive Vice President
of Development and Operations, he played an integral role in envisioning, opening, and repositioning widely acclaimed resorts and clubs. In 2009, Matt became a Partner of Group One Project Advisors and assisted a variety of hospitality industry leaders in re-imagining their positioning, strategy, and profitability. Before joining Preserve Communities, Matt was part of a forward-thinking private equity group that created a comprehensive condition management solution in association with a recognized and trusted branding platform.
Joe R. Burbee, PGA
Director of Golf
Joe was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the age of fourteen, Joe was hired by the Jack Nicklaus Sports Center in Mason, Ohio as a ball mark boy; he walked the course for eight hours each day fixing pitch marks. Joe declared his professional status in 1992, and began working as an assistant at the Jack Nicklaus Sports Center in Mason, Ohio in 1993. He was elected to membership in The PGA in 1995 and became the Sports Center’s Head PGA Professional in 1997.
In 2001, Joe moved to the Head PGA Professional position at The Signature at West Neck in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was selected as the Head PGA Professional at Bay Creek Golf Club in 2005. He became the Director of Golf at Bay Creek a short time later. Joe became a Certified PGA Professional in Golf Operations in 2008 & Retail in 2009. Joe firmly believes that treating members and their guests like royalty is the key to business success. His main objective is to make sure the staff is hospitable, helpful and informed.
