Internally, a new model of management and ad- ministration will be implemented at TREC to achieve higher levels of performance and great- er effectiveness and to foster a culture that in- spires our staff and increases engagement with our stakeholders. Monitoring and review will be an integral part of the Strategy’s implementation to assess performance, support decision making, and provide greater accountability. These strate- gies will help to ensure that the three pillars of the land-grant model – teaching, research, and exten- sion – are consolidated, integrated, and improved, and that TREC maintains its leadership and pio- neering work in tropical and subtropical agricul- ture and management of natural resources.
