(3) ใช้บอกถึงเงื่อนไขที่เป็นไปไม่ได้ใน If-clause (Unlikely type)

(ตัวอย่าง)

 lf I saw him, I would tell him the news.

ถ้าหากผมพบเขา ผมคงเล่าข่าวนี้ให้เขาฟัง

 You would pass if you worked hard enough.

คงสอบผ่านแล้ว ถ้าหากคุณตั้งใจเล่าเรียนให้มากพอ

 If I had money, I would make a long journey around the world.

ถ้าหากผมมีเงิน ผมคงจะเดินทางไปรอบโลก

(4) ใช้ใน Past Simple Tense แทนที่ Present Simple Tense เมื่อเปลี่ยนประโยคจาก

Direct Speech มาเป็น Indirect Speech

(ตัวอย่าง)

Direct Speech : She said, “I understand what he means.”

เธอพูดว่า “ฉันเข้าใจว่าเขาหมายความว่าอย่างไร”

Indirect Speech : She said that she understood what he meant.

เธอพูดว่าเธอเข้าใจว่าเขาหมายความว่าอย่างไร

Direct Speech : I asked him, “Is it cleaned by service center”

ฉันถามเขาว่า “มันถูกท าความสะอาดที่ศูนย์บริการ

ใช่หรือไม่”

Indirect Speech : I asked him whether it was cleaned by service center.

ฉันถามเขาว่ามันท างานด้วยไฟฟ้าใช่หรือไม่
