We think we know big cats pretty well but actually, we don’t. In this series, we take a look at the extraordinary prehistory of big cats and their ascent to world domination. How did these giant carnivores survive the ice age? Why did their territories change, with the lion once a true worldwide phenomenon? Brand-new night vision systems and super slow-mo cameras take us on a tantalising trail of evidence to answer these questions.

They glide through our urban jungles, breed on the river’s edge and feel quite at home in our backyards. You thought they were far away, in the wild. You’re wrong. They’re here. The urban invaders – a red squirrel nesting in the bird feeder, a duck on the balcony or a hedgehog at the cat food dish. Join us on a journey into a well- known territory – with very unexpected encounters...

Borneo’s varied habitats, from the world’s oldest tropical rainforest’s to some of its largest cave systems, have fuelled the evolution of the most bizarre and enigmatic wildlife on our planet. This is a realm of giant apes, pygmy elephants and air- breathing fish, where over 15,000 different species of plant grow. From the coast to the island’s highest point, Mount Kinabalu, rising over 4,000 metres, Borneo, Earth’s ancient isle, is a place quite unlike any other.
We may not have noticed it yet, but pigs are slowly taking over the planet! There are an estimated two billion of them, living on every continent except Antarctica. Humans are partly to blame – pigs have been a part of our lives for thousands of years. In this film, we follow the many lives of pigs and ask, what is the key to their remarkable success?

The largest wetland on Earth, The Pantanal, lies in the beating heart of Brazil. This is a land of wild contrast, ruled by a dramatic cycle of drought and deluge. Over 4,700 species of plants and animals are packed into an area the size of Kansas, making this place home to South America’s highest concentration of tropical wildlife. As the rains cease and the waters recede, the animals become even more concentrated around rivers and waterholes. At the peak of the dry season, when distant rivers are too far to offer comfort and nearby pools have vanished, there is an oasis that stubbornly refuses to disappear. A mysterious place that always offers sanctuary. This is the story of Rebel Lake.
