‘Born To Be Wild’ takes the viewer on an enthralling five part journey through South America, India and Africa, showcasing some of the worlds animals as they experience the first few months of life. As we follow the babies, we see how their extended families raise and protect them, alongside the wildlife that lives beside them. From lush rainforest to arid scrubland, sweeping highlands to tropical savanna, these animals thrive in diverse habitats, and with this ecological and geographical diversity, every episode of ‘Born To Be Wild’ is totally unique. Each episode features an individual baby animal, revealing their amazing character and the difficult challenges they face in order to survive growing up wild. Along the way, we meet the incredible range of species with which they share their homes, friends, competitors and even their predators, and prey.

The Dehesa is the Iberian Peninsula’s best kept secret! Sometimes called the Spanish Serengeti, it’s an ancient, wild grassland dotted with trees. But these are no ordinary trees – holm oaks, cork trees and gall-oaks have shaped this landscape, today large herbivores graze the landscape, stealthy Iberian lynxes prowl the shadows, formidable eagles patrol the skies and colourful wildflowers conceal predators that have such astonishing camouflage they seem to completely disappear. The Dehesa is a crucially important ecosystem with awe-inspiring biodiversity. For all its apparent serenity and tranquillity, this is a wild territory, where the battle for life is never far away and every living creature struggles to survive from day to day— until the next sunrise.
