Leopards are solitary animals; but not in northwest India. In a remote, little-known region of Rajasthan these majestic big cats display astonishing behaviour. ‘The Leopard Rocks’ accompanies Neelam, a female leopard, as she fights for the lives of her offspring, and provides a fascinating insight into the lives and adventures of one of the world’s most interesting big cat species in a unique, unusual environment.

A giant fig tree marks the territory of a pride of lions, who have thrived for years in a remote flood plain in North Western Zambia. One day without warning or explanation, the pride male has vanished, leaving five females and their cubs to cope alone. The Alpha female must guide her sisters and the cubs through treacherous times as two very different competing males attempt to take over the pride.
‘A Life among Monkeys‘ follows the story of primatologist Dr Wolfgang Dittus through the unfolding narrative of the lives of the charismatic toque macaque monkeys, living among the spectacular ruins of an ancient temple in the heart of the Sri Lankan jungle. Compelling new natural history sequences enrich a film archive spanning the 40 years since Dittus’ arrival on this island in the Indian Ocean.

The biggest show on Earth is wildlife in action. Fight, communicate, build, love, breed, and eat: these are the basic animal behaviours. This series treat them all, one by one. We explore some unknown species, and others that are common enough to live among us, but whose behaviours can still surprise us!

Usually elephants are too large and dangerous for predators to attack. But in one place in Africa they are falling prey to a surprisingly fierce and capable group of killers. Forced by extreme circumstance to change their behaviour, these fearless predators are in a class of their own and have evolved into a Super-Pride. They are the lions of Savuti.
