Wild Cornwall: Out On The Edge
1 x 60’, 2016, 4K
Cornwall: way out on the far western edge of United Kingdom, a rugged finger of land pointing into the ocean. The seas around Cornwall are some of the most bio-diverse in Europe – and they dominate everything from stormy cliffs to serene estuaries. Peregrine falcons, kingfishers, adders, bottlenose dolphins or grey seals – a vast diversity of animals are fighting the seasons to make the Cornish ground, air or water their home.

Marlice van Vuuren grew up on the Harnas wildlife sanctuary in Namibia. It was here that she developed her love for wildlife, especially the injured, orphaned and ‘problem’ animals. After completing her studies, Marlice and her husband Rudie started Naankuse, a wildlife sanctuary near Namibia’s capital. We follow their compelling conservation efforts - from saving the life of a baby baboon to collaring majestic desert elephants.

The landscape of the Iberian Peninsula ranges from lush jungle-like forests, wetlands, woods and immense prairies, to the driest deserts with only the Strait of Gibraltar separating Europe from Africa. In northern Spain, there are the snow- capped mountains of the Pyrenees and the Sierra Nevada, and to the south, endless coastlines of sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs. This is the definitive blue- chip series on Spain’s diverse landscape and wildlife.

But beyond the battle scars and the fortifications, there’s a land of stunning natural beauty and remarkable wildlife. There are lush wetlands and mudflats in contrast to the soaring mountains and turbulent seas; and the beautiful goshawk, bottleneck dolphin and curious raccoon dog thrive alongside Korea’s traditional people as they have for many thousands of years.
