Now, I should ask you again: how regularly do you pray this type of prayer? Do you make it a custom to pray daily to be kept from the evil one and from evil attacks or afflictions? Or do you resort to praying against your enemies whenever you sense an attack is being mounted against you? How do you pray this prayer? Do you find more comfort in using your owns prayer constructs or use instead the prayers as constructed by Jesus? Do you fall into the trend to use many words and engage in vain repetitions? It may well be that this is why you don’t experience the answers to prayers that hit the ‘bullseye.’
