BULLSEYE PRAYERS
Ezekiel 36:24-27 NKJV
For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. [25] Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. [26] I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. [27] I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Here, God speaks through the prophet saying that He would take the “heart of stone” of the repentant Israelites and replace it with a “heart of flesh.” The heart of flesh is the same as the heart of love. It is a heart that pants after God. It comes through the help and operation of the Spirit of God in us. That is why it is stated in the same context of scriptures that God will put His Spirit within the people and cause them to walk in His statutes. You know that walking in the statutes or commandment or word of God is also defined as evidence of walking in love toward Him. In essence, God is saying here that I will put My Spirit within you so that you can walk in love toward me.
