Chapter Seven
HOW TO LOVE YOUR WIFE I: SANCTIFY HER
That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word
Ephesians 5:26
One of the gestures of love that the husband must extend to the wife is to ‘sanctify her.’ The above scripture confirms that. To sanctify means to dedicate, set apart or consecrate unto God’s service. It is to make holy and pure. It is to be free from sin and iniquity. To sanctify is to remove every blame in us – Spirit, Soul and Body – according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23,
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
