fruit in old age means that they will be fruitfulness fo as long as they are ‘sanctified’ and ‘cleansed.’ They shall also be fresh and flourishing talks about their outer beauty, the more easily observable attributes. In summary, in and out, they shall be a beauty to behold! What is however, obvious from this representation is that, the righteous like the palm tree, receive great nourishment in the court of God wherein they are planted.
They receive what they require to grow stronger, livelier, healthier, fresher, more fruitful and more attractive. It is not enough to be sanctified and cleansed, as Ephesians 5:26-29 has shown us, it is also of great importance to be well ‘fed.’ Husbands need to nourish their wives in addition to sanctifying and cleansing her in order for her to become a ‘glorious woman,’ like the cedar in Lebanon.
To nourish is essentially to ‘feed.’ Therefore, love is shown toward our wives by nourishing them through qualitative ‘feeding,’ spiritually, physically, sexually, mentally and psychologically. We would note that although God called the Levites to be set apart for His service at the Tabernacle (sanctified) and instructed that they be cleansed, He still made
