The Man In Love
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:34
This command indicates that love is most compelling demand of God from us. If God commands us to love, it means that we have been given what it takes to love one another. When it comes to the all-important relationship between man and woman, a husband and his wife, that same command stands for the man.
The man that God desires, therefore, is a man in love. He is required to be a husband in love. In or out of relationship, as long as man is in Christ, love will make or mar his destiny walk. Man is made for love. Man is made to love. Love is designed to help man to secure his destiny. Unfortunately, most men do not understand this. It is also doubtful that men and women seldom operate the same definition of love. If there are disparities in definition of love and differences in the understanding of the concept between men and women, great obstacles to successful marriages emerge.
