THE ANOINTED HEAD. The anointing typically comes upon the head! It sets apart the head, making him holy for the work of God (Leviticus 8:12). It is a mark of honour upon the head as well (Psalm 23:5). It is also a mark of identification of God’s chosen one (Psalm 89:20). It is a mark of “touch not” upon the head (1 Samuel 26:11; 2 Samuel 1:14; Psalm 105:15). It represents empowerment of the head (1 Samuel 16:13; Acts 1:8). It is the blessing of the Holy Spirit upon the head (Matthew 3:16).
You shall put the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban. And you shall take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him.
