thing happened to his servants when he sent them to bring David to him. They prophesied as they came in the midst of prophets (1 Samuel 19:20-21).
Let me close this discussion on the anointed head by drawing attention to what Jesus said about the anointing that came upon His head in Isaiah 61:1-3 which he read when He took up the book in the synagogue in Luke 4:16-20,
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Isaiah 61:1-3
All that the Spirit of the Lord anointed Jesus to do was for our benefit as His church. These are various ways in which He showed love to the Church. In the same way, since our blessings are patterned after the blessings He showered upon us, we are anointed as husbands to bless our wives in this manner.
